Sweet Orange oil is an essential oil produced by cells within the ring of an orange fruit (Citrus sinensis fruit). In contrast to most essential oils, it is extracted as a by-product of orange juice production by centrifugation, producing cold-pressed oil. It is composed of mostly (greater than 90%) d-limonene and is often used in place of pure d-limonene. D-limonene can be extracted from the oil by distillation.

Used in Aromatherapy is Orange essential oil. It has a fresh, sweet, citrus smell and is valuable treatment oil for many ailments. The oil is extracted from the fruit of the Orange plant by cold-press method and it is best to only use organic, cold-pressed oils to avoid chemical toxicity.

Sweet Orange oil is one of the key components extracted from orange peels. It is extracted from the small glands found on the orange peel. When peeling an orange, you may have noticed tiny sprays of scented liquid bursting out. These are caused by the rupturing of the glands underneath the orange peel.
