Saffron/ Zafran/Kesar Absolute are one of the most expensive spices. Its oil has a woody, spicy and hay like odour. The absolute has in it properties of anti-mutagenic, anticarcinogenic, immunomodulating & antioxidant that makes it used in a wide variety of products.
Originated in Asia Minor, the plant was introduced into Spain by Arabs before spreading to France and the western Mediterranean. In ancient Egypt, it is also known as a medicinal plant. It was made into attar for magical uses. It is one of the bets attar for heart center and promoting compassionate state of awareness.
