The Menthol Bold Crystal is a colourless hexagonal crystal. It is used as a raw material in the manufacture of medicines, food, flavor and daily-use industrial products. It is transparent, dry and has the refreshing odor of the natural mint.
There is evidence that menthol has been known in Japan for more than 2000 years, but in the West it was not isolated until 1771, by Hieronymus David Gaubius.Early characterizations were done by Oppenheim, Beckett, Moriya,and Atkinson.
